The first assignment features five video clips for you to watch. These clips show real people trying to live their lives on their own terms. As you watch these videos, I want you to do the following things:

1. Answer the questions (below the links) about character (or characters) in each clip.
2. Write a paragraph describing how you feel about the way they are living.

QUESTIONS: Answer these for each video.

1. Who is the main character (or are the main characters) in the clip?
2. What are the main motivations that drive the character(s)? 
3. Where do their motivations come from? What drives the character to do what she/he does? Do they have to sacrifice anything to live this way?
4. What does their lifestyle say about the person? Motivations and resulting actions reveal a lot about personality, backstory, and goals.
5. What stereotypes and judgments do you think people make/apply to the character? 
6. What do you think the character thinks about the opinions of others?

PARAGRAPH RESPONSE: Answer in paragraph form for each video. Write a paragraph describing your opinions about the way they live. Use complete sentences. Take the following things into consideration:

1. What do you think about their lifestyle?
2. What do you like about the way they live?
3. What do you dislike about the way they live?
4. Do you think you could live that way?
