PART ONE: The Website

This assignment focuses on something important in 21st century society. As you do this assignment, please realize that we all share the same world and often participate in institutions that we do not fully understand. Be as honest as you can as you do this assignment. Follow these steps and take notes as you go:

1. Go to Slavery Footprint website and follow the prompts.
2. As you work your way through the “How Many Slaves Work For You” website, take notes and summarize:
   1. Each question they ask (actually record the question in writing for future reference)
   2. Your response to each question (exactly as you answer it)
3. SUMMARY 1: When you finish working through the activity, write a summary (minimum of five sentences) of the experience and your thoughts and reactions to the experience.
   1. Remember to write an introductory sentence that introduces the website and explains the purpose of the activity.
   2. Reflect on your experience after doing this activity. Did you have any epiphanies or realizations?

PART TWO: INDEPENDENT RESEARCH:

When you finish your summary, do some online research on slavery in the 21st century. Find statistics and facts that shine light on the issue. Where does slavery exist in our present time? You may search for videos, websites, book reviews, TED talks, or anything that comes to mind. Look to find three solid sources of information and write the following in your notes:

1. Names and addresses of each resource you find.
2. Facts and data and points that you find powerful and want to remember.
3. Pay attention to the material that you find most powerful or impressive.
4. SUMMARY 2: Once you find three resources, summarize your findings. Did you find anything particularly impactful? How easy is it to find information about this topic?
